Almost exactly six months have passed since Wilma, 17, was last seen alive on the afternoon of November 14 at an address in Uddevalla. Thousands of volunteers searched for her, but it was almost two weeks before the police announced that they had found a part of the body confirming that she was dead.
On Wednesday morning, the prosecutor released the charge against her ex-boyfriend at the age of 20, suspected of being behind Wilma’s disappearance and death.
It shows that there are clear signs of forceful force on the body part found. The groom is also prosecuted for violation of marital peace, since it is, according to the prosecution, who separated the part of the body from the rest of the body and, therefore, “wounded and embarrassed the deceased.”
Comprehensive evidence
According to the indictment, there is technical evidence in the form of, among other things, fingerprints regarding the location where the body part was found. DNA findings have also been made and there are also a number of testimonies from people who made observations regarding the incident of the alleged murder.
Among other things, several people have heard loud screams from home.
There are extensive findings in the form of Wilma’s traces both in and around the groom’s house. According to the indictment, police and prosecutors are certain that the ex-boyfriend has removed the remaining part of Wilma in one or more unknown places.
“He has denied crime throughout the investigation,” prosecutor Jim Westerberg said at a live news conference on Wednesday morning.
According to the prosecutor, the first police patrol immediately found traces of violence when they came to the ex-boyfriend’s house looking for her.
– A thorough crime scene investigation was immediately launched, says Jim Westerberg.
The decisive results were delayed
Despite this, the body part was only discovered almost two weeks later.
– It was on November 28 when they returned to the apartment with a corpse that they marked in a place in the house. It was then that the part of the body that confirmed that Wilma was dead was found, says Jim Westerberg.
The prosecutor says during the press conference that there are no traces of people other than the ex-boyfriend in their home. That was the reason why two people previously suspected of interference were released and was fired from the investigation.
He also says that Wilma and her boyfriend have recently broken up and that he was Wilma’s ex-boyfriend at the time of the alleged murder.
Police Chief Sten-Rune Timmersjö also participated during the press conference.
– We are convinced that Wilma was murdered in the current house, he says.
He also talks about the great effort and describes it as massive. You can read more about the research here.
Despite the injuries found on the body part found, the exact cause of death cannot be determined. According to the prosecutor, however, it won’t be crucial when it comes to suing the boyfriend for murder.
