There is no summer in sight. Even spring has been chilled with cold, wind and snow per week.
SMHI Class 1 warns of snowfall in Uppsala, Västmanland and Gävleborg counties.
Cold air is heavy on the ground and does not seem to move. During the week, temperatures below or well below normal are expected for the season.
– That means we have April weather fixed in May. With lots of clouds forming on the days and rainy afternoons throughout the week, says Max Lindberg Stoltz, SMHI meteorologist.
Showers that in turn turn into snow, in combination with strong winds at sea. During Tuesday night, SMHI issued Class 1 snowfall warnings in Uppsala, Västmanland and Gävleborg counties.
– We have low pressure with associated rains passing through southern Sweden. Reinforcements with winds from the sea create snowfalls on the land that can be intense.
Snow is expected to increase overnight and can reach about two inches in parts of eastern Svealand and in Gästrikland. As the ground cools, snow is expected to cover the roads again.
– Above all, there is a traffic risk, especially now that many people have switched to summer tires, says Max Lindberg Stoltz.
With two weeks left until June, gardeners are also expected to be affected by the April earthquake.
– There is probably no direct risk of an accident, but for people who have planted outside it is not optimal with snow and frost.
TT: So when will the spring heat come back?
– What we can see now is that there is no heat at the entrance in the next few days. Possibly at the end of our forecast period, that is, next Thursday, it can warm up to temperatures of up to 15 degrees. It is uncertain, but there are indications that warmer air is on the way.
