The municipality of Uppsala invests the student celebrations.

Uppsala students can get together, despite everything.

On Tuesday, the municipality of Uppsala announces that it is changing the celebration of students and allows students to meet.

The municipality of Uppsala, after long discussions with the principals of the Uppsala upper secondary schools, has changed and will now allow students in graduation classes to meet during the closing week.

– We see that there is a great need for students to be seen, and we don’t know yet what it will look like in August, if even a jump will be allowed at that time. So we felt we still wanted to give students the chance to say hi, says Christine Johnson, principal of the municipal upper secondary school in Uppsala.

Christine Johnson cannot answer exactly what the deal will look like.

– It may vary a bit from one school to another, so I can’t answer that.

No flaking and no running for students.

Without springs and unfriendly students

When it comes to the student’s celebration itself, with the student’s fountain and fin, no change remains relevant.

– No, we will have that in August, if the rules allow it, and we have been clear about that all along, continues Christine Johnson.

How does it feel to see the students anyway?
– We receive very little feedback from students, and have had dialogues with student unions. It is not a fun decision to make, and it feels great that we can do this for them.
