“Seinfeld” star Jerry Stiller is dead.
The comedian, who is also Ben Stiller’s father, turned 92.
Jerry stillers death is confirmed by son and Hollywood star Ben stiller54, who writes On twitter:
“I am sorry to have to tell you that my father, Jerry Stiller, died of natural causes. He was an incredible father and grandfather and Anne’s most devoted husband for 62 years. He will be missing. I love you dad “.
Comedian Jerry Stiller is perhaps best known for his role in the critically acclaimed and award-winning television series “Seinfeld,” where he played the character of George Costanza’s father, Frank, in 26 episodes between 1993 and 1998. But also for his role as Arthur Spooner in the comedy series “King of Queens”, where he starred in 206 episodes between 1998 and 2007.
Along with his wife, the comedian Anne Meara, who died in 2015, had the comedy duo Stiller & Meara during the 1960s and ’70s, who often appeared on the popular American talk show “The Ed Sullivan show”.
Jerry Stiller’s television and film career dates back to the late 1950s with numerous roles and special appearances. In 1988 he starred in the acclaimed first version of the movie “Hairspray” directed by John Waters and Stiller also had a role in the remake of the film in 2007, where he played against John Travolta.
Along with his son Ben Stiller, Jerry Stiller also starred in the two “Zoolander” movies.
