At 3:20 p.m., the rescue service was alerted to a large barn fire in By, west of Djurås. Once in front it was discovered that the fire spread to a villa and a garage.
– The buildings are completely flared. They have been totally damaged, says Stefan Fröbom at the Dala Mitt rescue service.
Three stations participate in the extinction work, which is expected to take up much of Sunday night and night.
– There is a great risk of spread. We are now working to prevent the fire from spreading to the next village, ”says Stefan Fröbom.
Update 18.30: According to the rescue service, the site will be blocked after a gas bottle is discovered in the barn.
– It looked great for a while, but then a drone discovered this gas bottle. Because it can be acetylene gas, a shooter goes to the site to pierce the bottle, says Fröbom.
At age 20, the bottle was damaged.
– The bottle is punctured with two shots. There is no danger of it exploding and we have been able to free the fences.
The risk of spread to the adjacent village was initially considered high, but the rescue service has managed to prevent further spread.
According to police, the fire is believed to have started in a kerosene stove. A negligent negligence notice has been prepared.
No one was reportedly injured in connection with the fire.
