Fewer covid-19 patients – decreased since Friday | TTELA

Since Friday, the number of patients treated with covid-19 established in the Näl and Uddevalla hospitals has increased and decreased. On Friday, 62 patients were enrolled, Saturday 64 and Sunday 60. Even the number of patients needing intensive care has decreased, from 15 people on Friday to 12 on Sunday.

“There have been slightly fewer patients, but there are no major changes,” says Niklas Claesson, communications manager.

Few patients from other areas.

During Sunday, five new covid-19 deaths were detected in Sweden, but none of these have occurred in Västra Götaland. In the various hospitals in the Västra Götaland region, a total of 342 people with covid-19 were treated on Sunday, which is the amount reported on Saturday. The number of intensive care patients was 83 on Sunday compared to 89 on Saturday.

Are there patients from other geographic areas currently being cared for at NU Healthcare?

– It is not what I know, they can be isolated cases. In general, there is no major traffic between hospitals at this time, but of course we will help you.

Prepare for fire damage

During Saturday night, another incident occurred that made UN medical care particularly ready: the fire inside the Boreali industrial plant in Stenungsund. The plant produces polyethylene (a type of plastic), and emergency services worked all night to extinguish the fire. In the Näls emergency room, staff had to stop and wait for the course of events.

– The emergency rooms of the Kungälv and Näl Hospital are specially equipped to receive patients who have had accidents with chemotherapy. Therefore, emergency personnel had to stay longer to be prepared if there were many patients there who needed emergency care. But luckily it wasn’t, says Niklas Claesson.

Borealis writes on its website that the rescue service on Saturday night confirmed that no personal injury occurred in connection with the fire.
