“During the morning you could experience shorter temporary disturbances. We dare not say they are everywhere, ”says Malin Wemnell, press contact at Bank ID.
The disturbances are due to the congestion attack that Bank ID was exposed to on Tuesday.
“An overload attack is when you attack a service and there is so much traffic that the service becomes inaccessible or difficult to reach.”
During tuesday under service, which is used to access, among other things, Swish, banks and government sites, for several hours.
“What happened is that we continue to have repercussions from the congestion attack that we were exposed to this week. It is not a new attack but it is a consequence.”
It is still unclear why the Bank’s identification was exposed to this attack, but an investigation is ongoing.
Not all Bank ID users are affected by outages, and it is unclear how many do not access the service.
“We do everything possible to make the service more accessible and secure. We hope that the problems will be resolved soon, “says Malin Wemnell.
