The latest statistics from the Public Health Authority show that a total of 3,255 people have died in covid-19 suites in Sweden. This is an increase of five people in the last 24 hours. But despite the low figure, it is not an idea to make the leap. As usual, there will be a delay in the figures that will not be seen until next week.

– Individual figures are very difficult to assess today. But unfortunately I wouldn’t put too much hope in today’s figure, says Anders Tegnell, a state epidemiologist at the Public Health Authority.

The updated figures also show that a total of 26,322 have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus in Sweden.

– It is stable in Sweden as a whole. There is continued high pressure on medical care and it is very important that we follow the recommendations to keep a distance, stay home if you are sick, and keep social contacts low.

Even in intensive care, one sees a glow. A total of 1,723 people have received or have received intensive care for covid-19.

– If you look at the curve over time, it is now quite clear that it is slowly but surely declining. There is intense pressure in intensive care, but we also hear that caution is beginning to start other health care operations in Stockholm, and that’s a good sign, says Tegnell.
