Swiss police are monitoring protesters protesting against restrictions due to the coronavirus in the capital Bern.

Hundreds of people gathered in the Swiss capital Bern on Saturday to protest against restrictions issued to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

According to the protesters, the restrictions are a threat to people’s fundamental rights, and they used the Swedish line as an argument in their protest:

“Without closure measures, things are going as well in Sweden as in Switzerland,” said one of the posters protesters had when they gathered in front of the Swiss parliament. Many also bowed to police officers who were ordered to monitor the protests.

According to the country’s official statistics, more than 1,500 people died as a result of the crown virus in Switzerland. More than 30,000 are confirmed to be infected with the virus. Alplanding has gradually begun to ease some restrictions and, for example, has allowed hairdressers and florists to reopen their businesses. Schools, libraries, and restaurants will open Monday, subject to certain conditions.

But it will continue to be prohibited in Switzerland to meet in groups larger than five people.
