Earlier this year, DN revealed that the man had received a number of delicate tasks in both the Swedish and civilian armed forces by falsifying his qualifications and lying about his background as an officer and academic.
DN has repeatedly and repeatedly searched the man for an interview about the officers’ lies to no avail. But in the interrogation protocols that have now been made public, he himself tells the lie that threw all the Armed Forces into an international crisis of confidence.
– It is a lie of life where my environment believes in this. I almost believe in it, he says.

In the interrogation of a police station On February 19, the man is charged for the first time with suspicion of using false records, and he tells himself how he forged an officer degree certificate that he used when he applied for a job outside the defense.
The forged certificate is signed by a colonel who does not exist.
– He does not exist. He is a fictional person. As far as I know, there is no Colonel Carlsson, says the man.
He also gives his idea of how it was when he began to make a career in the Armed Forces. As DN previously revealed, he was expelled from the officer’s training after lying about his qualifications and deemed inappropriate and trustworthy.
– My contact with the Armed Forces could have ended there. A year later I received a letter from the Armed Forces in Boden, there was a reorganization. I think the letter was sent widely, to those who had high marks, the man says that he himself had good marks for military service.
Applied for a position in Kosovo and became deputy commander of the chief pluto for 47 men. DN research has shown that it was then or later that someone found out why the man was forced to cancel his officer’s training. The Kosovo service led to their subsequent recruitment of additional tasks, increasing degrees, and access to increasingly sensitive information. First as a recruiting officer, but later as a chief and reserve officer, despite being expelled from the required training.
– I ended up in a life lie, I have created an identity by working in these positions and by identifying with my colleagues who are professional officers and reserve officers, says the man and tells in the interview how he also lied about an academic title when he applied for a job.
The defense has been unable to answer exactly how it was when the false information about the officer’s title and academic title was recorded in their own systems, nor did it appear in the police interview.
– It is a lie of life where my environment believes in this. I almost believed it myself. A uniformed profession, which is part of a hierarchical structure, creates belonging and identity. It is a culture. It is an identity and a cohesion, a belonging that is very strong. I was included in that affiliation. I missed this when I was working in the consulting world, says the man.
At the February hearing The man claimed, after a question from his lawyer, that he did not use the diploma in any other context. But the man also used it when in 2018 he applied for a job at another authority. In a subsequent hearing on April 20, he also admitted this.
In late April, the man accepted a fine with daily fines and a suspended sentence for the use of false records in two cases.
