Half of the Siegfried & Roy duo have died in the covid-19 suites.

Roy Horn turned 75.

“The world has lost one of its best magicians, but I have lost my best friend,” says Siegfried Fischbacher, a partner in the duo.

Illusionist Roy Horn tested positive for a crown in April and has been hospitalized ever since. But on Friday, May 8, the legendary magician in Las Vegas passed away, reports CBS News.

– From the first moment we met, I knew that Roy and I would change the world together. There could be no Siegfried without Roy and no Roy without Siegfried, Siegfried Fischbacher said in a statement.

It started with mysticism

The German wizard duo met while working together on a cruise ship.

The start of the conversation, which would lead to their 50 years of friendship and cooperation, must have been the cryptic question:

“Can you make a question disappear?”

Siegfried & Roy became world famous for their shows at The Mirage in Las Vegas when they started using large exotic animals on stage.

In the splendid performances, the illusionists controlled everything from white tigers to elephants, and the audience was amazed.

Torn off the tiger stage

The last Roy Horn on stage was during a dramatic and widely spoken performance in October 2003. One of the great white tigers, named Manticore, attacked him and ripped him off the stage.

Horn, who lost large amounts of blood and had to operate on 25 percent of his scalp, among other things, refused to call the incident an attack and has since referred to the tiger as his “lifesaver.”

Five years later, Siegfried and Roy opened an endangered animal sanctuary in Las Vegas. In The Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, among other things, lived the duo’s white tigers and merchandise noodles.

“Be a fighter”

Roy Horn’s life and work will be celebrated during a public memorial.

– Roy was a fighter all his life and that includes these last days. The world has lost one of its best magicians, but I have lost my best friend, says Siegfried Fischbacher.
