The alarm reached police shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday. He is a man in his 70s who alerts the police and claims that they have robbed him.

– We were alerted to Södra Hamngatan in Gothenburg and he is an old man who had a Rolex watch stolen, says Thomas Fuxborg, police press spokesman.

The man was deceived

The two perpetrators, who are in their twenties, tricked the old man by asking if he could take a picture of them.

Then one of the perpetrators took the opportunity to take the watch from the old man.

– The two then fled the place and we have not found them. We don’t have a lot of effort on the site anymore, but we’ve switched to general recognition, says Thomas Fuxborg.

“Horrible crime”

According to the police, the victim survived without injury.

– But of course you are shocked and it is a really terrible crime to expose the elderly to it, says Thomas Fuxborg.

So late on Sunday night, a similar incident occurred at Olivedalsgatan when a man in his 30s wearing a Rolex watch had an attempted robbery.

There, too, two young men approached the intended victim.

Investigating connections

Police are now investigating whether there is any connection to the events.

– We are seeing if there is any connection, says Thomas Fuxborg.
