Some 350 people gathered in Tyresta National Park south of Stockholm to search for the 31-year-old professional soldier who had been missing for more than two weeks.

“We never stop looking, our efforts continue until they find it,” says Therese Haugen, operations manager for Missing People Stockholm.

On Sunday, a large search operation was carried out in the national park, as well as some one-off operations along the Sörmlandsleden.

– We have searched many areas that we can now exclude. It’s important to narrow down your search area, says Therese Haugen.

The last trace of the missing person is from November 13 when he wrote in a chat conversation that he was going out for a run in the area where he is now being sought.

– We have searched a bit on the ground. But mainly because of the roads and trails that exist. It is a large area and those moving in Tyresta are happy to keep their eyes open, if they see anything on the ground that does not belong there.

Initially, the police did not suspect that any crime had been committed in connection with the disappearance of the man, but earlier in the week they agreed that the incident is now classified as kidnapping.

– At the moment, the search work we do does not affect, as long as the police want our help for the search areas, we continue. We never give up, says Therese Haugen.
