On Monday, millions of Swedes received the mass mail from the Swedish Public Health Agency urging recipients to follow the new stricter advice to stop the spread of covid-19.
The mail has been cut to be short and meaningless, and lacks a link to the Crisis Information website that recipients are encouraged to visit.
Two percent of Swedish subscribers without text messages
And despite the gigantic scope of the investment, now it turns out that some 240,000 mobile subscribers have not received the message.
This is about two percent of Swedish subscribers.
This is what the Swedish Civil Contingency Agency, MSB, writes in a press release.
The reason is that these subscribers have operators that are not covered by the voluntary agreement signed with the four largest operators to send the text message for free.
MSB: “The mass mailing has raised questions”
Despite this, MSB believes that many have chosen to inquire about the message in the mail.
– Probably it has not escaped anyone that the mass sending of text messages has raised doubts and reflections on its effectiveness. But the fact is, more people have taken in the message and many more have sought to find out more about the new strict advice that took effect today, Morgan Olofsson, MSB’s director of communications, said in the press release.
