Liverpool decided late, everyone thought.

But after a hairy offside, the crazy Merseyside derby ended 2-2.

– I am a huge VAR fan but they are expected to make the right decision, says Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.

Liverpool got off to a dream start in Merseyside’s encounter with Everton when Sadio Mané, already in the third minute, gave the visitors the lead.

But after a mad tackle on Virgil van Dijk, who was forced to switch, and a draw from Michael Keane, the joy turned to frustration on the Liverpool pitch.

The shooter king saved points

With 20 minutes left in the game, Mohamed Salah set a new lead for Liverpool, with 100 for the club. But the Egyptian did not have the last word.

Instead, Dominic Calvert Lewin, who during the national team break had time to debut and score for England, became a huge point saver for Everton.

In the 81st minute, the shooting league leader headed in at 2-2, which was also the last of the match.

– In the end, I’m disappointed that we didn’t bet more when it was 1-1. Today we really had the opportunity to take all three points. But we didn’t lose and we expanded our suite without loss, says Calvert Lewin after the game.

“It doesn’t look good”

In the final minutes, everyone thought Sadio Mané had fixed the three points for Liverpool, but after a VAR review, the goal was ruled out by a fine offside.

– Maybe someone can explain it to me. In the photos I have seen there is no offside. I’m a huge fan of VAR, but you are expected to make the right decision. I have done ten interviews and everyone has said that it is not an offside. It doesn’t put me in a better mood, says Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.

Before that, Richarlison had to leave the field after a stretched-out stud bet against Thiago, who made his first Liverpool game from the start.

– We don’t know his status. But it doesn’t look good, says Klopp.

Virgil van Dijk’s injury also looks serious, according to the Liverpool manager.

– Not good. Virgil usually plays in pain, but today he couldn’t continue. We have to wait and see, he says.
