– Dust and smoke were all around me. All those killed and wounded were students heading downtown.
Nine killed in bomb attacks Saturday morning
According to Reuters, IS has been held responsible for the act. In a statement, they wrote that a suicide bomber was wearing a belt bomb that detonated near a crowd. It is unclear if this is true.
“A suicide bomber wanted to enter the training center, but was identified by the guards at the center, after which he detonated his explosives in an alley,” said Tareq Arian, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry in Afghanistan, according to AFP.
Hours earlier, a roadside bomb had detonated east of Kabul. Nine civilians died. Four policemen were also injured in the act. The country’s authorities have blamed the Taliban for the attack.
