1 in 5 have had better finances during the crown

[ad_1]

The crisis in the crown has hit several industries hard. The hospitality, travel and restaurant industries are particularly vulnerable, as are brick and mortar stores. Bankruptcies are numerous here and personal financial setbacks are common.

But in most other places, the economy has not been a problem during the pandemic, according to a survey conducted by Expressen in conjunction with Sifo.

– If you haven’t lost your job, you may have strengthened your finances. They have cut back on restaurant visits, bought fewer clothes and completely withdrawn from leisure trips, says Toivo Sjörén, Sifo’s head of public opinion.

When many have been sitting at home, the transportation costs have disappeared, it can be several thousand kronor saved each month on a car, bus pass, parking or congestion tax.

– It is difficult to obtain a corresponding salary increase, says Sjörén.

But even if 90 percent didn’t notice any financial difference or got better, 10 percent got worse.

– 10 percent means 750,000 Swedes who got worse economically during the pandemic, says Toivo Sjörén.

It is not possible to make too many changes on the differences between the party groups. However, a note can be traced between the MP / S / V voter group and the M / KD / SD voter group.

– Here you can see that it is possible that there are a little less reddish greens that have had worse finances during the pandemic, says Toivo Sjörén.

Among other things, it may be that there are more students among MP voters, but also more higher education.

THIS IS WHAT THE MEASUREMENT WAS DONE

Objective group: The general public from 18 to 79 years old.

Investigation period: January 26-27, 2021.

Method and selection: Web interviews on Kantar Sifo’s randomly selected panel.

Number of interviews conducted: 1000

Client: Expressen.

The Expressen / Sifo poll also shows that pessimism is great about when we can leave the pandemic behind. The expensive journey has to wait.

When asked “Do you think you can travel abroad during the summer?” 15 percent answered yes, while 68 percent answered no. 17 percent say they have doubts.

When asked “When do you think the corona problems ended?” only 3 percent responded that this will happen in the summer. 19 percent believe it will be in the fall. The vast majority believe that the problems will not go away until next year (49 percent) or even later (24 percent).

– It’s a surprising result. Crown problems are not expected to end very quickly, says Toivo Sjörén.
