Susan Rice and her husband have been making ever-increasing donations for Joe Biden’s campaign as their fortunes have risen as his potential running mate, according to a new report.
Obama-era national security adviser and her millionaire TV producer husband Ian Cameron donated $ 24,000 to the Democratic nominee’s campaign in June alone, the Washington Free Beacon reported Monday.
The sum is an enormous boost to the modest $ 5,800 the couple has previously donated to the campaign throughout Biden’s entire career.
According to the Free Beacon report, just two days before CNN reported on June 2 that Rice was being considered to participate in Biden’s ticket, Cameron cut a $ 5600 check to the Biden Victory Fund.
Three weeks later on June 26, Cameron donated another $ 5,600, while Rice donated $ 12,800 to herself on the same day, the report said, bringing the total contribution to $ 24,000.
Travel is considered along with sen. Kamala Harris as one of the last candidates left in the race to be Biden’s spit.
The former US ambassador to the United Nations openly lobbied for the job, telling NPR that she was ‘honored and humbled’ to be on the shortlist and that she would be a great fit for the job given her two decades in Washington, DC .
