Look, I’m sure the new Microsoft Edge is a fantastic web browser. I look forward to trying it once.
But Microsoft, I have an advice for you: if so many Windows users google “Can’t uninstall Microsoft Edge” that you feel the need to completely own that search result by making it the title of your FAQ … maybe it just can’t force Windows users to get started?

To be clear, I’m not saying Microsoft would not have to have updated users to the new version of Edge, especially after today’s announcement that Internet Explorer and legacy Edge will phase out exactly one year from now. Continuing security updates are important!
But instead of telling users what effectively comes to “you can not remove it, because we decided not to let you,” Microsoft could perhaps take a hint and give users what they apparently want. Here’s how Google’s uninstall Microsoft Edge search volume has evolved in recent months:
In fact, you apparently do to be able to still lose the new Edge. (Strange how Microsoft’s page puts it.) You just have to be comfortable with a few shell commands.
