Nintendo’s “limited time” switch release Super Mario 3D All Stars Received an exciting new update.

Adds GameCube controller support to this one Super Mario Sunshine, So now you can play this particular game with the same controls as found in the original game release. Of course, to access this mode you need to have access to the GameCube controller ap dopter.

There are also in-camera support and many other common fixes to improve the entire package. Below are the full patch notes, courtesy of the Nintendo support page:

General
  • Players can now verify my controls within all three individual titles.
  • Super Mario Sunshine now supports the Nintendo GameCube controller (sold separately). Players can now play this title using the same controls found in the original GameCube release.
    • The Nintendo GameCube controller for Super Mario Sunshine is only supported in TV mode.
    • To use this controller with your Nintendo Switch system you will need a GameCube controller ap dopter (sold separately). Information on how to connect this adapter and controller can be found here.
    • The Nintendo Switch Lite system does not support this controller option.
    • All buttons displayed inside Super Mario Sunshine Nintendo will not reflect the GameCube controller.
  • Other general fixes have been applied to improve the overall gameplay of all three titles.
