Turns out last night’s in-school game was the last of summer camp, as there won’t be another game today. Then, tomorrow night, the Cubs host the White Sox for their first of three exhibition games.
The Cubs ended up going 7-7-2 over the course of their nine games within the squad (math!), And it was moderately enjoyable while it lasted.
Last night’s game wasn’t televised, but Marquee put together a featured package. The biggest climbs to the beautiful relay from Kyle Schwarber to Javy Báez to Willson Contreras to cut Nico Hoerner trying to score from the first double to the left:

No one in the game broadcasts faster than Javy Báez. Just say’.
On the news side today, Anthony Rizzo participated in some field work and batting practice, but he still has it on his back day by day. “Good working day for him,” Ross told reporters today, according to NBCSC. “I felt good afterwards, everything positive. We will wait to see how it reacts tomorrow. Still day by day, the same state, but today is a step in the right direction. “
If you missed it earlier, David Ross says his top two choices at second base are Nico Hoerner and Jason Kipnis.
The Cubs released a new video today that, I must say, gave me some definitive feelings:
