The JRPG Classic Cult Series Suikoden could be receiving a titled spiritual successor, Eiyuden Chronicle: One Hundred Heroes. It is being developed by Rabbit & Bear, a new Tokyo-based studio founded by key creators of the Suikoden series, and is taking the form of a Kickstarter project that will launch on July 27 (also known as Tomorrow).
According to the official PR, Eiyuden Chronicle is an ode to the classic JRPG of the PlayStation era and will feature exploration and battles in high-resolution 2.5D graphics, pixel-based characters, and a story about war and friendship. There are also over 100 heroes to recruit and a fortress building system, allowing players to grow their army. Here is a little more:
The game will feature a guild system that allows players to change their strength attributes based on the guild they join. Battles will take place in turns with groups of up to six members and will feature dynamic boss battles that change the camera angle and rotate according to the environment.
The story will be written by Suikoden, Suikoden II and The living alliance writer Yoshitaka Murayama.
For this game to go on, you need $ 500,000 USD (before August 28) for PC launch. This will unlock elastic targets for a version of the game for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The expected release date is Fall 2022.
