Suicide Squad Game, Not Gotham Knights, follows the story of Arkham Games

If you’re looking for the sequel to the story set up in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight, it’s not in the upcoming WB Montreal game with the Bat family more like you titles. As we learned at DC FanDome, the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a continuation of the Arkhamverse.

As revealed during the panel discussion of the Suicide Squad game, Kill the Justice League follows the narrative that has been established in previous Rocksteady Arkham games. Some of the narrated threads established in that trilogy will be picked up here, although specifications were not shared. We know that the game tells an original story, where they apparently have the task of taking down the Justice League, including Superman.

On the other hand, Gotham Knights will not be – WB Games Montreal told ComicBook, “Gotham Knights is an original story set in DC’s Batman Universe and not related to the Arkham series.”

This news may come as something of a surprise, given that Kill the Justice League seems to have a brighter tone from the two games. But in a way, it makes sense: Kill the Justice League is Rocksteady’s new game, while Gotham Knights comes from WB Games Montreal. The latest studio, however, developed Batman: Arkham Origins, but that is not considered part of the core trilogy of Arkham games.

Unfortunately, this means it will be some time before the Arkham story continues – Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released in 2022 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Gotham Knights, on the other hand, will released in 2021 for PC, PS4, Xbox Series X, PS4, and Xbox One.
