Studies claiming that HCQ doesn’t work are ‘false science’

Studies claiming that hydroxychloroquine doesn’t work when treating coronavirus patients are “false science,” a doctor at the “White Cape Summit” in Washington, DC said Monday.

Dr. Stella Immanuel, from Rehoboth Medical Center in Houston, Texas, said she had 350 patients who were given hydroxychloroquine and all of them recovered.

She continued:

Here’s what I’ll say to all those studies: They had high doses, they were given the wrong patients, I would call them bogus science. Any study that says hydroxychloroquine doesn’t work is false science. And I want you to show me how it doesn’t work. How is it going to work for 350 patients for me, and they’re all alive, and then someone says it doesn’t work? Boys, they all study: false science.

In what appeared to be her Twitter account, Dr. Immanuel wrote Friday that fear, illness and death were “meaningless and unnecessary”:

A recent clinical study conducted in a Detroit-area hospital system suggested that the antimalarial drug was effective in reducing the death rate from the coronavirus, contradicting other studies, Breitbart News reported July 3.

“Several recent studies have suggested otherwise: that hydroxychloroquine does not provide any benefit to coronavirus patients, and may actually pose a risk of heart problems for some,” the article reads.

“Many doctors prescribed the drug, and many took it as a prophylactic, but clinical evidence of its effectiveness was lacking,” he continued.

However, in a banner photo on his Facebook page, Dr. Immanuel’s Rehoboth Medical Center urged patients to receive early treatment for COVID-19 if they had flu-like symptoms.

“The FDA has revoked its emergency use authorization restricting the use of hydroxychloroquine only in hospital settings. It was not found to be effective in sick hospital patients, ”said the banner.

“However, clinicians can use it on an outpatient basis when early treatment is key to its effectiveness, beyond what is indicated to treat covid19. That will also free up the stockpile,” he concluded.
