Steven Matz and Rick Porcello of the Mets will follow deGrom in the Nationals series

The Mets’ rotation is set for the season opener series.

Jacob deGrom will start Friday’s opening game against the Braves, who will counter-attack with Mike Soroka, at Citi Field. Steven Matz will get the go-ahead on Saturday, taking on Max Fried, with Rick Porcello set to debut in the Mets in Sunday’s series finale.

Originally, Porcello was scheduled to start an in-school game Wednesday at Citi Field, but he scratched himself after the Mets heard of Marcus Stroman’s broken muscle in his calf. Instead, Porcello launched a parallel session and will launch another on Friday in preparation for the start of Sunday.

Stroman was not the only pitcher to land on the disabled list on Wednesday when Robert Gsellman joined him there with the correct tricep tension. The reliever threw a slope toward a permanent receiver on Tuesday, but he does not yet have a timeline to return.

“It is progressing again,” manager Luis Rojas said. “There is a plan for it to increase, but it is something that we will continue to reevaluate day by day with him.”

Wilson Ramos participated in his first in-school game on Wednesday since he returned to camp after a three-day absence to attend to a personal matter. The receiver served as DH and went 0 for 2.

Pete Alonso was cut by a Franklyn Kilome pitch to the helmet in the Mets’ in-school game, but he jerked and stayed.
