Steph, Ayesha Curry supports Joe Biden, to speak at Dem Convention

Steph and Ayesha Curry were pretty clear about where they stand in politics, but on Thursday night they will confirm their intentions for the 2020 presidential election on national television.

“We are voting for Joe Biden,” the couple said in a video released by the Democratic National Convention on Thursday afternoon.

The video, first shown by People magazine, is reported after a piece of her speech that will play in the last night of the convention Thursday. Their daughters, Riley and Ryan, are also featured in the video.

“We want to make sure our children live in a nation that is safe, happy, healthy and honest …”, Ayesha said in the video, before pausing to give her husband for her official word.

“We are voting for Joe Biden,” Steph said.

No surprise there, seeing the pair are outspoken critics of President Trump. They have marched against Trump and for social and racial justice in Oakland and Palo Alto just two months ago. Steph joined the audience at the Palo Alto, singing, “Donald Trump must!”

The Warriors and Curry condemned Trump as far back as 2017 when they refused to visit the president for the traditional festive White House for championship teams. Back, Curry said. “By acting and not going, that will hopefully inspire some change when it comes to what we tolerate in this country and what is accepted and what we are keeping an eye on.”

Trump is then soon withdrawn is invitation for the NBA Champion Warriors. He also refused to invite the Warriors when they won the title again next season.

This will be the second time the Warriors’ All-Star point guard and his wife voted against Trump in the presidential election. They both voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

The new video released Thursday also includes Steph asking his daughters, “What would you say if you knew Joe Biden would have a wife as his vice president?”

‘Surprised and happy,’ said his eldest daughter, Riley.

Biden made the historic choice of sen. Kamala Harris of Oakland last week as his running mate. Harris is the first Black woman and also the first person of Asian descent to appear on the ballot for a big party.

Curry, meanwhile, may be able to compete Thursday night against himself for wrestling. He will appear live on national television as a representative of the Warriors during the NBA Draft Lottery. Curry will participate in the lottery from his home, which begins at 5:30 p.m.
