Steelers release P Dustin Colquit, Destar Henry Mondex signs roster

The Pittsburgh Steelers made several roster moves on Friday morning, highlighted by the release of Pte Punter Dustin Colquit. While adding LB Ray Wilbourne to the practice team, the team also put ILB Devin Bush on the IR, D.A. Henry Mondex signed in his place.

Colquit Weekly was signed earlier in the week, but averaged the .1, the worst since its rookie season in 2005.

The team has not yet announced who will be their new punter, but that job could go back to Jordan Berry, who was cutting for Colquit before the start of the season. Barry was brought in for a visit earlier in the week. The team also has Rookie P. Corlis Wetman on the practice team.

Bush will officially land on the injured reserve as he rips his ACL against the Browns. His season will come to an end. Mondeaux is a semi-surprise to replace him, having risen to 53 for the first time in his career. A UDFA out of Reg Reagan, he is impressed with the two camps he has been with and the prospects.

The practice squad rotates with the elevation of the Wilburn Mondex, creating an open space. A safety / linebacker hybrid at Ball State, Wilbourne, was also brought in for a visit earlier in the week. A UDFA in 2020, he initially signed with the Atlanta Falcons before making the cut as they streamlined their roster to 53.
