Star Trek show coming from Rick and Morty lead writer

the Star Trek Revival continues. We have Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard running on CBS All Access, with Star Trek: strange new worlds on my way.

But before anything like that, we’re getting Star Trek: under the covers, a lively show that takes us on a tour of space: “the funniest frontier” through the eyes of employees who work daily in the bowls of Federation ships, rather than superiors on the bridge. Have a look:

If you think you’ve heard that kind of fast, high-energy dialogue, it could be because the boy behind Bottom covers is Mike McMahan, formerly the lead writer on Rick and Morty and the creator of Hulu Solar opposites, another science fiction comedy with a motor. Clearly, the boy has interests.

AND Star Trek It may have always been the end goal for him. Dude had a Twitter account of what could have happened in a hypothetical eighth season of Star Trek: the next generation, an account that received so much attention that it became a book. (“Data and Geordi’s plan to build the perfect girlfriend fails explosively,” reads an episode description.) This boy clearly loves Emigrate, and I think that is seen in the trailer.

“If you look at ‘Rick and Morty’ you will see that he is deeply influenced by ‘Star Trek’, which is really wonderful,” he said. Star Trek executive producer of the franchise Alex Kurtzman. “It is just a very different tone. The key is to laugh with ‘Star Trek’ and not with ‘Star Trek’. And it will skew adults a little more. Yes, that’s what I thought after seeing the bare chair gag at the end there.

Star Trek: Low Covers starring Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, Eugene Cordero, Dawnn Lewis, and Jerry O’Connell. The new episodes will be released every Thursday on CBS All Access, starting August 6.
