Squidbillies star Stuart Baker, who votes for Father Cuyler’s father over the animated comedy for adults, has been fired after posting a number of provocative remarks on Facebook.
Baker, who goes by the stage name Unknown Hinson, called Dolly Parton a ‘freak titted, old Southern bimbo’ and a ‘slug’ after the country singer gave support to the Black Lives Matter movement, per our sister website Variation. He told his liberal fans: “Please follow me. Because I do not want you UN-AMERICANS in the area! … FUN OF LEAVING YOUR OWN RACE, CULTURE AND HERITAGE. ‘
Squidbillies makers Jim Fortier and Dave Willis announced Baker’s fire in a tweet on the official Twitter handle of the show on Sunday: ‘We are aware of the very offensive and offensive posts on social media made last week by Stuart D. Baker. The views he expresses do not reflect our own personal values as well as the values of the show that we and many others have worked hard to produce over the past 15 years. For these reasons, production of Squidbillies will continue without Mr. Baker, directly effective. ”
Debuted in 2005 on adult swimming, Squidbillies follows father-and-son mudfish Early and Rusty, who live in the backwaters of Georgia. The show often touches on current political issues, including an episode of 2016 that saw Early Wrath against a local Confederate flag affiliate and join a Southern Heritage group. Squidbillies was renewed last year for a 13th season.
