Bad news if you turn to Spotify for some morning votes. In the US, Spotify users report that songs simply stop after about 10 seconds. A handful of Engadget editors have encountered this issue, Down Detector’s trusted site is showing issues, and Spotify itself has confirmed the issue on its supported Twitter account.

At the moment, it seems that these issues only occur in the US, as we can best tell – several Engadget editors in the UK have confirmed that their accounts are just working. If you’ve been feeling that Spotify has been down a bit lately, you are not wrong. About a month ago, a Facebook SDK issue caused Spotify and a host of other major apps for hours all the way down. It does not appear that this is the same issue, but despite the fact that we’ll keep an eye on what’s going on – we’ve also reached out to Spotify to see if they have details on what the support team posted on Twitter.
