Developer Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, exclusive to PlayStation 5, will have an optional “performance mode”, which offers 4K resolution (we assume frame frames) at 60 frames per second. For reference, Marvel’s Spider-Man runs at 30 frames per second on PlayStation 4, so it’s safe to say this sequel will look wonderfully smooth.
We hope that many more PS5 titles will offer similar performance modes. While we all understand why developers and publishers often push visual quality over performance, we’d love to see that next-gen games provide us with options to improve performance if possible. Insomniac Games is doing well, as far as we are concerned.
