“Wear a mask, I’m wearing two,” Holland writes in an Instagram caption.
The third Spider-Man movie was almost dubious after Sony and Disney failed an initial agreement, in which Tom Holland’s web-slinger Marvel will continue to be in the Cinematic Universe.
But a deal is finally done and the new Spider-Man movie is scheduled to release on December 17, 2021.
While the plot is wrapped up, Sony announced that Jamie Foxx will reprise the role of Electro for the third film. Fox was last seen playing the character in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which was not part of the MCU, and was replaced by Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man in the film series.
Doctor Strange, played by MCU’s Benedict Cumberbatch, will also appear in the film as Peter’s guide. The appearance of Strange and Electro has sparked speculation that the third Spider-Man movie will somehow solve the spider-verse.
There’s no word on when Spider-Man 3 will be wrapped up for shooting, but Sony has alleged that the first appearance will come somewhere in December. Although considering starting filming, it’s not clear how profound the first look will be.
