See a surprise first Space Jam 2 came last night – though a short one. During an event for the LeBron James Family Foundation, a first look at LeBron James in his new Tune Squad jersey from the highly anticipated sequel was unveiled. It’s a very short teaser of sorts that James just ran to the camera sporting his colorful new look Space Jam: A New Legacy.
The sequel has been in the works for a while and came last year behind cameras last year Malcolm D. Lee (Night school) in the director’s chair. The film does indeed have a well-appreciated team that brings it to life – Black panther filmmaker Ryan Coogler co-wrote it with Sev Ohanian (Search) and also produced it and Hans Zimmer has collaborated with Kris Bowers (When They See Us) to compose the score.
Of course, the film also ended up replacing its original director Terence Nance a few weeks after filming, at which point famous cinematographer Bradford Young left the project as well. That calls it a wash?
The cast covered Don Cheadle, Sonequa Martin-Green, Eric Bauza, en Kath Soucie, with several NBA players as well Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, en Kyle Kuzma confirmed to lie performances next to WNBA players Diana Taurasi en Nneka Ogwumike.
