Seahawks has offered head coach Pete Carroll an extension of his multi-year contract, but with the assurance that he will not coach anywhere else and complete his decorated career in Seattle, league sources told ESPN.
According to league sources, the Seahawks made the move peacefully long before their Sunday game in Buffalo against the Big.
Although no one at the Seahawks organization has confirmed the expansion, a source told ESPN that it is believed the deal will tie Carroll to Seattle in the 2025 season, when he turns 74.
Carroll, who turned 69 in September, is the NFL’s oldest head coach, but few can match his energy and positivity. The Seahawks are back in the thick of the NFC West title hunt again this season, entering Sunday with a 6-1 record, and quarterback Russell Wilson playing at MVP level.
Now in his 11th season with the Seahawks, Carroll is the winning head coach in franchise history with a 106-60-1 record. Carroll has led Seattle to eight playoff appearances, four NFC West titles, two Super Bowl appearances and one Super Bowl win.
