Sources – Phoenix Sons, Oklahoma City Thunder discusses Chris Paul’s business

The acquisition of All-Star Point guard Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns was discussed, sources told ESPN.

Sources said talks are ongoing and traction continues to be collected but no deal has been struck. Trades is currently on hold as the NBA goes through the proceedings to start the next season of the league draft next week.

Thunder has given in to star players like Paul George and Russell Westbrook input at trading venues in the past and has now shown an openness to work on trades with Paul, sources said.

The Sons have a promising young roster led by Devin Booker and Deandre Eaton. The team narrowly lost the play-in tournament last season, finishing strongly 8-0 in Orlando’s NBA Bubble.

In addition to their young roster, contributing to the Sons ’momentum is the close of the first phase of the કિંગ 230 million renovation of Talking Stick Resort Arena. They are also set to open a new $ 45 million state-of-the-art practice facility this month.

The pay-cap cap in the sun during the transaction season could amount to more than 20 20 million, allowing them to combine trades and find other free agents.

Paul played a season in New Orleans under Sons coach Monty Williams from 2010-10 and has talked a lot about him in the past. Paul Sons also praised the style of play. “His basketball mind l mind … I was so excited before the games about the plays I was doing,” Paul told reporters before facing Williams’ Sons last December.

Paul has two years on his contract and .5 85.5 million left, which is a motivating factor to consider in the trade of re-trading build Thunder. Thunder, however, has told the teams that he is interested in keeping Paul next season as well.

He is coming out of a season in which he averaged 17.6 points and 6.7 assists when he took the Thunder to the playoffs. After the season he was named to the Second Team All-NBA.
