Sony’s WH-XB900N over-ear, wireless headphones are steep discount at Amazon. Normally $ 248 they are $ 100 off that price, which is a big discount of 40 percent. These headphones offer digital sound cancellation, and while that will help make things a little quieter, it’s probably not nearly as effective as active sound cancellation that, in the case of Sony’s $ 350 WH-1000XM4 flagship, on microphones, an algorithm, and dedicated processor to help the sound from outside. But for the money, they have to get the job done. They share a few similarities with Sony’s flagship model, including their touch interface, USB-C charging, and they have the same attention mode where you can hear what’s going on around you by holding a hand over the right earpiece.
I do not expect this deal to last longer than today, but we’ll have to see.
More headphone deals are coming in from Jaybird, who is discounting their Tarah Pro wireless in-ear headphones that are suitable for rounds. These normally cost $ 159, but they are now $ 100 through Saturday. Compared to the standard Tarah model, these offer a much superior 14-hour battery life, or so that is at least the advantage. And with their Switch Fit design that allows them to easily convert to an over-the-ear design, they look like a good fit if you are looking for headphones that will stay in your ears during a run.
Lastly, take the time to pre-order your Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. They will both be officially released in the US this Friday, August 21st, and Samsung will reject the pre-order perks at some point the day before the release. If you pre-order the Note 20, you get $ 100 ($ 150 back for the Note 20 Ultra) in Samsung credit for “composite bundles and select products like Samsung TVs, Galaxy Buds Live, tablets and more.”
