Sony Xperia 5 II leak discovers a new 120Hz display and a headphone jack

Sony’s upcoming Xperia 5 II – the successor to last year’s Xperia 5 – is almost completely leaked thanks to a leaked promotional video by Android Headlines, which has released almost all information about Sony’s smaller flagship prior to the planned release on September 17.

Much like last year’s Xperia 5, which was a smaller version of the Xperia 1 in full size, the Xperia 5 II looks like a rumored version of the Xperia 1 II – albeit presumably at a lower price than the eye-catching ‘e Xperia 1 II. $ 1,200.

Consistent with Sony’s recent smartphone strategy, the Xperia 5 II is another super-high-end phone, with a 21: 9 ratio. The display is still a 6.1-inch Full HD + HDR OLED panel, though this new this year is a 120Hz refresh rate.

The cameras have also been upgraded, with a rear triple camera setup that looks identical to the Xperia 1 II, complete with Zeiss lenses. There is a 12-megapixel main camera with AF / 1.7 aperture and a 24mm lens (although it is not clear if Sony still uses the exact 1 / 1.7-inch Exmor RS 12-megapixel sensor of the larger phone), along with a 12-megapixel, 124-degree ultra-wide and a 12-megapixel 3x zoom telephoto lens. However, there does not appear to be a time-of-flight sensor.

The overall internal specs are also improved: the battery is larger at 4,000mAh, the processor is a faster Snapdragon 865, and there is now 8GB of RAM now (more than 6GB in last year’s model), although the memory remains the same at 128GB, with the option to expand it with a microSD card. And in a welcome addition, there is even a 3.5mm headphone jack, something that is missing on last year’s model.
