Some Roman Catholic groups and leaders have warned that President-elect Biden, despite being a member of the faith, will pursue harmful policies and create confusion about the church’s teachings.
Shortly after the election, Archbishop Jose Gomez issued a statement congratulating Biden, saying “he joins the late President John F. Kennedy as the second president of the United States to return the Catholic faith.”
However, Gomez, who chairs the US Conference Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), later announced a working group in preparation for Biden’s presidency, and issued a statement on the “problems” created by the Catholic president in support of certain progressive policies.
“The president-elect has given us reason to believe that his commitment to faith motivates him to support some good policies. These include immigration reforms, refugees and the poor, and policies on racism, the death penalty, and climate change. ‘
Biden started the AIDS, furthering his faith after the Carthage says he was “not good at standing.”
“He has also given us reason to believe that he will support policies that are contrary to some of the basic values we love as athletes. These policies include: repealing the Hyde Reform and preserving Row v. Wade. Both of these policies undermine our leading priority in eliminating abortion, “Gomez added.
He warned that endorsing certain policies would “cause confusion among believers about what the church really teaches on these questions.”
The Catholic vote before the election, which launched the anti-Biden campaign, and the Catholic Association both expressed their support after Gomez made these statements.

Biden’s faith has been a very vague topic, as he leads a party seen by critics on the right to go left over abortion. Subsequent candidate Biden significantly reversed his support for the Hyde Reform in 2019, blocking most federal funding for abortions.
Over the years, Byden has endorsed the Hyde Amendment that religious Americans should not pay for the proceedings they fundamentally oppose. That’s why his reversal on policy last year was shocked by the media. Biden, however, appeared to be blowing up church education personally when he was appointed to a gay marriage ceremony in 2016.
In August Gust, Cardinal Raymond Burke said the former vice president should not have achieved secularism and was not a Catholic “in a good position.” Shortly after the headlines of those comments were pulled in September, the Biden campaign published a series of ads aimed at its confidence.

The ads portray Biden turning to his religion in the dark and knowing “what it means to be your brother’s guardian”. In an ad, Biden tells the Jesuit priest and the magazine’s editor that “my father will say that the main sin of all sins is the abuse of power.”
But Biden has led anti-abortion people.
Both Catholic Catholicism and some clergy have indicated that it is the duty of politicians to support anti-abortion legislation. Discussing abortion, the Department of Catechism says that procedure and infanticide are “heinous crimes.”
On Thursday, Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, tweeted, “Biden is requested to repent of his disagreement with the Catholic doctrine of abortion and marriage for his own salvation and for the good of our nation.”

Amid waves of criticism, however, Biden has the backing of religious leaders such as Senior Campbell, a Catholic nun who has been critical of Republicans, and Suggested Biden’s faith should not be reduced to one point.
Jesuit Pastor Fr. James Martin also came to Biden’s defense in the weeks following the election. In a tweet on Tuesday, Martin warned in an article that Bishan should be “careful” to avoid “jeopardizing cooperation on other issues of church importance” in his attack on Biden.
In another tweet, Martin denounced Trump’s rhetoric and claimed “[i]President Biden does nothing but call it a success. “
