A team led by ICE officials recently discovered what is called ‘the most sophisticated smuggling tunnel in American history. ‘

An incomplete 1,300-foot tunnel between Mexico and Arizona was reported earlier this week, according to reports.

Officials explain the tunnel was provided with ventilation, water lines and electrical wiring. It also included a rail system and extensive reinforcement.

“Right now, this is one of the toughest tunnels we’ve seen in the United States,” explained Agent Border Patrol Vinny Dulesky. “The material that was used to build it and the terrain that it had to cross makes it really special.”

Agents made the discovery after investigating a sinkhole outside Yuma, Arizona.
