SLO County sets another daily COVID-19 record and reports 5 more deaths


San Luis Obispo County is reporting the deaths of five more people who tested positive for COVID-19.

Health officials say two of the patients were in their 70s, one was in their 80s, and two were in their 90s.

San Luis Obispo County also added 258 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, a record for a second day count.

The previous record was set on Saturday when 229 new cases were reported.

As of December 22, the county had a total of 9,061 confirmed cases.

Eight Th people are hospitalized, including eight patients in the ICU. Another 2,012 people are recovering at home and health officials say 6,930 have recovered.

Sixty-five people have died in San Luis Obispo County thanks to Covid-19.

Additional 43 Additional cases are being investigated for location, and another 12 have been listed as “other” communities with less than five cases. The public health department is not identifying those places.

Community COVID-19 test sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Peso Robles, Morrow Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
