Shares of Slake rose more than 25% on Wednesday following a Wall Street Journal report, with Salesforce negotiating to buy the company.
Salesforce stock fell nearly 4% on the news.
The deal is valued at more than બજાર 17 billion more than its market cap, the report said. Slack’s market cap has exceeded 20 20 billion, according to the WSJ report.
Salesforce is on an acquisition momentum, taking advantage of market cap growth in recent years in sales to buy growth. It acquired Mulsoft for biggest 5.5 billion in the biggest year of 2001 to help connect cloud applications. The following year it spent more than double on Meghalaya, acquiring a data visualization company for Table 15.3 billion dollars.
Slc will be the largest software deal ever for the industry. It will include IBM’s હે 34 billion purchase of Red Hat in 2019, Microsoft’s ફ 27 billion purchase of LinkedIn in 2016 and Facebook’s 19 19 billion purchase of WhatsApp in 2014.
“It will be a game-changer move for Benioff & Co. to move forward with its collaborative engine and manufacturing steps,” Dan Ives of Wedbush Securities told CNBC, referring to Senforce CEO Mark Benioff.
The deal is not guaranteed and negotiations could take place, the Street Journal reported.
Shares of Micro .ft, which competes with Slack through offers from its teams, also declined slightly in the report.
Microsoft already competes with Salesforce in software software to track customers. Microsoft has reportedly turned its attention to buying Salesforce but no deal has been struck. Later, Microsoft launched the Teams Communications app.
“Our primary competitor is currently Microsoft .ft Corporation,” Slack said when he sought to become a public company in 2019. Micro .ft has a large customer base that it has been able to transform into a team, and can give Salesforce Slack an equal advantage.
Slack last said in October-October 2019 that it has more than 120 million active users daily.
Spokesmen for Salesforce and Slack were not immediately available for comment.
