Maker, a pre-med student at Mercer University, left for the islands after testing negative for Covid-19 at home on Nov. 27, his grandmother, Jenny Mum, told CNN earlier this month.
When she landed, she took another Covid-19 exam, which also came back negative, even though she was told to stay apart for two weeks. Instead, she decided to take part in her boyfriend’s jet ski competition two days later.
