Sinclair delays on-air interview with pandemic conspiracy theorist – Deadline

Sinclair Broadcasting said today it will delay the planned broadcast of a news segment that included an interview with a conspiracy theorist who made several wild claims about the pandemic.

America this week Presenter Eric Bolling planned to broadcast an interview with Judy Mikovits, a medical researcher who appeared in a conspiracy video called The plandemic.

The video, which appeared in May, advocated against the masks and made claims against any proposed vaccines. He also claimed that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the infectious disease expert at the White House, created the coronavirus, Media Matters reported. The video has been banned on many social media platforms due to its claims.

Mikovits appeared in the video, and when Bolling interviewed her, she did not mention the controversy, but promoted her as “an expert in virology” who previously “worked with Dr. Anthony Fauci.”

However, a protest on social media about Bolling’s interview has paused Sinclair and apparently Bolling himself, who issued his own statement in the interview.

“I recognize that this segment needs to be reworked to provide better context, and as such, we are delaying the episode’s broadcast for a week,” Bolling said in a statement posted to his Twitter account on Saturday afternoon.

He added: “I have always welcomed all the points on my show and have always championed freedom of expression in my 15 years in the media,” Bolling said. “In this case, it is true that some of Dr. Mikovits’ statements took me by surprise. At no time did I agree with her. Also, I brought in another doctor to debunk the theories she put forward. I repeat: I do not agree with Dr. Mikovits. “
