Things are slowly getting back to normal for Simon Cowell.
Last weekend, the former “American Idol” judge broke his back after falling off a new bike he was testing at his home.
A spokesman for the 60-year-old star said he had “broken his back in a number of places” and would undergo surgery.

It seems Cowell is on his way to recovery, however, because he is “very happy to be home with his family in the fresh sea air,” a friend recently told Cowell’s magazine People.
“He’s already done some work this week, but he also knows he needs to give his back time to heal properly from the surgery,” she continued.
The operation Cowell underwent took several hours and involved the placement of a metal stick.

Despite the serious injury and surgery, the television personality exceeded expectations.
“He was able to run faster and faster than the experts had expected him to do after this type of major surgery, which is a great sign for the healing that is coming,” his friend said.
On Sunday, August 9, Cowell took to Twitter to share a message with his fans about the incident.
“What good advice … If you are buying an electric trail bike, read the manual before riding it for the first time. I have broken part of my back,” he wrote online. Thank you everyone for your friendly messages. “
The sharp judge added: “And a big thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Keep everyone safe.”
