Simon Cowell went into surgery on Saturday night after a serious bicycle accident, Page Six is told.
The “America’s Got Talent” star, 60, has been rushed to his hospital in Malibu, California.
He was riding a new electric bike in the courtyard of his home when the accident happened, sources said.
“Simon has broken his back and will have surgery tonight,” a rep confirmed. For Cowell on Saturday night.
“Simon had a fall from his bike on Saturday afternoon while testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his home in Malibu with his family,” the rep added.
Cowell has undergone lockdown with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and her 6-year-old son Eric, as well as her 14-year-old son Adam from a previous relationship.
He turned to cycling after adopting a get-fit regime that saw him lose 60 pounds in recent years.
He recently told Extra: “I think I’m fallen since I started this diet a year ago, 60 pounds.”
The music mogul said it has continued to make his stick to his healthy lifestyle much easier, apart from the effort Eric made.
‘I do a little cooking. I practice. Funny enough, even more so at this time, sticking to the diet, ”he said.
