Veteran actor Simi Garewal called actor Kangana Ranaut brave for speaking out against powerful Bollywood filmmakers and their monopoly on his industry. Simi said in a series of tweets that she feels “depressed” after hearing what happened to Sushant Singh Rajput and said that someone “powerful” also tried to sabotage Kangana’s career.
Simi said she was not as brave as Kangana to call the one who had wronged her. “I applaud #KanganaRanaut, who is braver and bolder than I am. Only I know how a ‘powerful’ person has cruelly tried to destroy my career. I was silent. Because I’m not that brave … @ KanganaOffical, “he wrote in a tweet.

Simi’s tweets came after watching Kangana’s interview with Republic TV about Sushant’s death. “I don’t know what they felt after watching #KanganaSpeaksToArnab … but it has left me quite depressed … I am distressed by what #SushantSingRajput suffered … and also by what many ‘outsiders’ are going through in Bollywood … must change, “she said. Simi hoped that the actor’s death would bring an awakening in the industry.” When George Floyd was assassinated in the United States, there was an awakening. In the same way, the death of #SushantSingRajput may be the harbinger of an awakening in Bollywood ”, he wrote in his tweet.
Twitter users appreciated Simi’s support for the cause. “More and more people are coming out and talking now. Sushant you changed India! You sacrificed your life for the sake of India. You will be in our hearts forever. Everyone else is OUT, OUT, OUT, “read one tweet.” It’s good to see you talk about this too. You were a wonderful actress and it’s a shame if your on-screen presence was reduced due to someone else’s act, “read another. Tweet.

In his interview with Republic TV, Kangana had said that he would return his Padma Shri if his claims about Sushant’s death were shown to be incorrect. “” They (the Mumbai police) summoned me, and I also asked them, that I am in Manali, that they can send someone to take my statement, but I have received nothing after that. I tell them that if I have said something that I cannot testify, that I cannot prove and that it is not in the public domain, I will return my Padma Shri, ”Kangana said. “I do not deserve it. I am not that person who will register (to make such statements), and everything I have said is in the public domain, ”he added.
Sushant died of suicide on June 14 at age 34. He was reportedly suffering from depression. His death has sparked a debate about nepotism and favoritism in Bollywood with many targeting powerful filmmakers and star children on social media.
