The 44-year-old Australian star shared the news during Tuesday’s episode of DJ Zane Lowe’s Apple Music podcast, saying the youngest of his sons recently became a father.
“My youngest son just had two babies. I’m a damn grandma! I know that,” she said. “I am immediately horrified.”
She added that her boys call her “Nana,” but she is “trying to get them to call me Lovey, like Kris (Jenner). I say” Call me Lovey. “
In May, hitmaker “Chandelier” revealed during an interview with SiriusXM’s “The Morning Mash Up” that her family had grown up after she took care of two “aging” foster children.
“In fact, I adopted two children last year,” he said at the time. “They were both 18 years old.”
During her conversation with Lowe, the Grammy-nominated artist said her journey to motherhood left her “weary” about the foster system.
“It is completely corrupt,” he said. “It is failing us … Not in my experience, in the experience of my children. They have been in 18 different places in their 18 years.”
Sia revealed that her children had suffered “complex trauma and conditioning” while in foster care but had “blossomed” since leaving the system.
“I am ashamed that it took me to adopt two black children to really understand what they go through on a daily basis.”
