Jane Taylor is best known as the actress who featured Master Chief’s AI companion Cortana and her creator Dr. C. Katherine Helsi in Halo Games, starting with the original Halo: Combat Evolution, 2001, and the next Halo by Infinity. Actress Natasha McClon (Solaris, Ronin) was initially cast to play both characters, but she has downplayed her role in the show. McClon is still in the role of Hallelujah, but Taylor will take his rightful place in the ears of the master chief.
Photodump also confirms that at least some of the visual effects will be of the conventional kind. Wrapping in plastic feels like the hand of an elite or confederate, one of the Hulking soldiers of the covenant. It is unclear from the photo whether it is part of a larger model or suit, or if it was to be used only as a screen f-screen effect.
After all, we have a few shots of gear for use in the show. The gun looks closest to the BR85 battle rifle, the buoyancy on the gun is attributed to the long carrying handle, and the short space is mounted on the back. The crate looks like an ammo crate, but it doesn’t get close to any of the material in the game that we can remember.
Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief in Showtime’s Halo TV series (Orange is the New Black). Boken Woodbine, Shabana Amzi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Kulzak and Kate Kennedy are also in various roles. Halo is currently set to debut on showtime in 2021, although the epidemic delay means the date could move forward.
