Shots reported at the Bunn-O-Matic facility in Illinois

At least one person was shot when the shots erupted on Friday at a coffee machine in Springfield, Illinois, where employees were evacuated, according to reports.

The shooting was reported in the Bunn-O-Matic warehouse just after noon EST, WAND-TV reported, citing the Sangamon County Sheriff.

Information about the person who received the vaccine was not immediately available. Police did not say if anyone else was injured in the incident at 1400 Adlai Stevenson Drive, the media outlet reported.

There was no information on a possible suspect.

Carolyn Pemberton, who works across the street from Bunn, told the State-Journal Register that a SWAT team is on the scene.

“It probably happened about 25 minutes ago. There is an active shooter. That’s all I know I got from across the street. It’s kind of scary, I mean our parking lot is full of officers and ambulances, and the employees are in building 1405, ”he told the media.

Pemberton said her husband works at Bunn-O-Matic and that “he was testing a brewer today for shipment and is actually locked in a room inside.”

She added: “From what I can tell you it is very serious. She has not stopped with officers at the scene. “

Police are establishing a command post, Fox Illinois reported.

“The scene is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. A media presentation area has been established at the SE corner of 11th / Stevenson, ”Springfield police said on Facebook, asking people to avoid the area and take alternative routes.

Bunn-o-Matic, which was founded in 1957, manufactures dispensed beverage equipment, including for coffee and tea.

This is a developing story.
