Sheboygan County issued an emergency COVID-19 warning saying they were struggling

Sheboygan – Sheboygan County has issued an emergency COVID-19 warning that the public health department and medical facilities are struggling to contain the epidemic.

Tuesday’s announcement is not a formal ordinance or a declaration of a public health emergency. Instead, it is a warning to inform the public about the current situation and to ask the public to stop the spread of COVD-19.

“Due to the increase in cases, public health has not been able to notify positive cases and their close contacts in a timely manner. This severely limits efforts to contain the virus. In addition, hospitals are imposing emergency plans,” the county said in a statement.

The county says they are struggling to notify people of the positive COVID-19 test result in a 24-hour period and the number of hospital admissions is increasing.

To note the severity of the conditions in Sheboygan, the county cited a recent list in the New York Times where Sheboygan was in the U.S. last week for the fastest-growing cases in the metropolitan area. Is listed as No. 2 in.

In his statement, the county asked people to do a number of things: limit interaction with people outside your home, follow social distance guidelines, do not organize ceremonies, sporting events or other large gatherings, and follow WEEDC guidelines.

The county then concluded his statement with this: “We are all together. Please join in protecting each other. You can stop the spread of COVID19.”
